Wait ... Peter David wrote that?  Crikey.  Apparently, even the truly talented can have some horrible ideas.  Not only is Shatterstar inherently lame, but he sure as heck shouldn't be slapping Ben Grimm around like a bitch.

Also, sorry, Lunar.  If that guy had been that cool, I'd remember the name of his show!  I can remember the Lexx show, but not that one.

It was the one with ... wasn't the lost astronaut named John Kriton, something like that?  Their show was occassionally entertaining ... nothing cool enough to excuse a gun-sword, tho! :P

Yeah, pretty much.  So I guess nothing's really changed.

Besides the stupid look to him, seriously the shooting-with-a-sword thing always just irritated the hell out of me.  If you want your character to shoot, give him a gun.  Or a bow.  Or whatever.  A sword's a melee weapon, and you shouldn't be shooting stuff with it!

And ya, I know the explanation was that he was using the sword to channel energy from himself ... whatever, I still thought it was stupid.

Shatterstar is a stupid character.  I'm sorry to see someone liked him enough to bring him back.

i honestly dont mind Shatterstar and i have no idea where all this hate is coming from. sounds a lot like self hatred projected onto a character that may or may not have qualities that you see in yourself

I didn't mind Liefeld.  Sure, his art is technically crap, and his costume designs left a lot to be desired, but it was pretty dramatic pose wise and such for the time.
