Hahahah. Wiki Scavenge go!

In Dark Reign: The List - Punisher, after repeated failed attempts to kill Frank Castle, Norman Osborn sends Daken and a platoon of H.A.M.M.E.R troops to complete this mission. After a bloody round of hand-to-hand combat, Daken dismembers and decapitates Castle, before kicking his remains from a rooftop. Castle's body parts are collected and spirited away by Moloids, seemingly operating under the protection of Man-Thing[18].

 "FrankenCastle" (#11-16)
The next story arc in the monthly, "Franken-Castle," deals with the Punisher's apparent mutilation at the hands of Daken in the Dark Reign: The List one-shot, and apparently features the character being literally reconstructed as a patchwork monstrosity.[7]

Dislike Romita Jr. so much.  I wanted to blame so much of it on the colorist/inker when he was doing Spiderman.  But it looks just as bad here.
Look at my horse, my horse is amazing.

I've never been a huge fan of J.R.Jr. either but I think I've just grown accustomed to his style over the years.
I mean, seriously, I rank him in the same catagory as Kirby or Mignola.
They all have die-hard fans and even criticizing them can warrant ill-feelings from some folks.
Not pleasant to look at but they are recognizably iconic in their own ways and have their purpose in comicdom.

I'd even add Keith Giffen to that list and Giffen was my favorite artist of all time back in the early '80s. Then in between Legion issues somewhere his style completely changed into a bizarre cartoony but still easily recognized form. Just wasn't the Giffen I used to try to always try to base my own are style on (compare his 'Great Darkness Saga' work with most of his LSH, Ambush Bug, or Lobo stuff afterwards).

(Then again, I always liked Michael Turner and Greg Land and most folks seem to hate them so what do I know?) 8-)

I can see a couple of people in this thread I'm gonna have to smack.

JR JR may have an idiosyncratic style, but at least he can tell a story as opposed to all those "artists" who can splash and nothing else

That's the problem I have with Alex Ross.

It looks like to me that Frank put an explosive device on Dakken's left arm.  It goes off, but just a few panels later Dakken is there with no damage to his left arm.  Heck, with an explosion in a confined space, his solid organs should have turned to jelly, his hollow organs burst and his arm at least hanging on by a thread.  He shouldn't have been able to come out of that sewer that soon.  Does he have greater than Wolverine level of regeneration?

Yes, THAT's what's stupid about that sequence of panels.

I didn't say it was the only thing.

What about Norman doing his Wicked Witch sending out the flying monkeys impersonation?

He also apparently grew a full head of hair with that explosion.

I thought Daken had the monstrous Mohawk, or am I wrong?

So wait, wouldn't this:

Recently however his claws were bonded with the magic metal of the shattered Muramusa demon blade making them even sharper and more powerful. This blade temporary shuts down "healing factors" as well allowing Daken to kill those even with very strong healing factors.

Mean that when he pops and retracts his claws, he would start bleeding out?  Or shouldn't it ffect his healing factor when their sheathed?  Or is this another thing they didn't think through?
